Network expansion is extremely easy and comparatively inexpensive. All bandwidth allocation is controlled at the Satellite hub, so increasing network capacity is as simple as increasing the amount of bandwidth allocated to the network. More importantly, no hardware changes or field technician visits are required at the remote sites, since Avonline’s equipment is designed to handle maximum bandwidth requirements.

Relocating and adding network sites is significantly less complicated and less expensive with a satellite network than with most terrestrial technologies. Installation of new sites takes just a few hours. Relocation can occur on the same day and no additional terrestrial infrastructure is ever required.

The Avonline Broadband service consists of:

• Customer Equipment – Skystar 360E or BBI SIT
• Satellite link to the Eurobird or Astra1H satellites
• Satellite Hub connecting directly to the Internet backbone.

Our satellite communications use the DVB-S and DVB-RCS open standards which define how data is transmitted over satellite. Major satellite terminal manufacturers have announced their intention to provide products compliant with these standards, assuring interoperability.
